Le premier r\u00e9servoir sert de source d\u2019\u00e9nergie et le second, de source de prot\u00e9ines. Ces r\u00e9servoirs sont reli\u00e9s \u00e0 un biodigesteur, aliment\u00e9 \u00e0 un rythme r\u00e9gulier gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un programme informatique qui r\u00e8gle tout l\u2019\u00e9quipement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/fr\/2013\/manure-food-waste-st-andre\/computer-program-used-to-measure-and-monitor-all-biodigestion-activity\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3788\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3788\" alt=\"Computer program used to measure and monitor all biodigestion activity\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Computer-program-used-to-measure-and-monitor-all-biodigestion-activity-350x262.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Le taux id\u00e9al de pompage des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res pour optimiser le captage du gaz et minimiser le gaspillage est de 4 m\u00e9trique cubique par heure pour le R\u00e9servoir 1 et de 8 m3 toutes les deux heures pour le R\u00e9servoir 2. Le biodigesteur est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un agitateur qui favorise le mouvement des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res et la cr\u00e9ation de gaz. Le liquide qui reste dans le biodigesteur s\u2019\u00e9coule dans un bassin (ou \u00e9tang) de r\u00e9tention et est ensuite utilis\u00e9 comme fertilisant.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant le processus de digestion ana\u00e9robie, les bact\u00e9ries lib\u00e8rent du m\u00e9thane. Celui-ci est capt\u00e9, puis achemin\u00e9 vers une g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrice, o\u00f9 il sert de combustible pour produire de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/fr\/2013\/manure-food-waste-st-andre\/engine-receiving-methane-from-digester-to-contain-it-as-energy\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3787\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3787\" alt=\"Engine receiving methane from digester to contain it as energy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Engine-receiving-methane-from-digester-to-contain-it-as-energy-262x350.jpg\" width=\"262\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cette installation est avantageuse sur le plan \u00e9conomique, parce que la biomasse utilis\u00e9e est gratuite. Et, dans ce cas-ci, la compagnie McCain fait elle aussi des \u00e9conomies, en r\u00e9duisant le co\u00fbt de transport de ses d\u00e9chets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">La ferme laiti\u00e8re Laforge Holstein produit aussi quelque 2 200 litres de lait par jour, qui sont vendus aux fermes Northumberland et Baxter. Le fumier des vaches est recueilli pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer le processus de d\u00e9composition par les bact\u00e9ries dans le biodigesteur.<\/p>\n<p>Les propri\u00e9taires s\u2019attendent \u00e0 r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer le co\u00fbt du syst\u00e8me en dix ans.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Laforge Holstein plant is a biomass system set on 400&nbsp;hectares (1000&nbsp;acres) of land that uses organic materials such as potato peels, fries, pizza dough and tomato sauce, mixed with manure and chicken grease residue for biodigestion (anaerobic decomposition). The system has 2 mixing tanks that hold the organic material: tank 1 is used as an energy source and tank 2 is used as a protein source. These tanks are linked to the biodigester using a regular feeding schedule run by a computer program that is linked to all the machinery. The ideal pumping ratio of organic material or feed to capture gas and minimize wastage is 4&nbsp;m3 every hour for tank 1 and 8&nbsp;m3 every 2 hours for tank 2. The biodigester has an agitator to encourage movement of materials and the creation of gas. The leftover liquid from the biodigester seeps into a holding tank or lagoon which is later used as fertilizer. Through the digestion process methane is released by bacteria and captured. The gas is then piped to the generator where it is burned for electricity generation. This installation makes economic sense because the biomass is obtained free of charge. In the case of McCain\u2019s, the company also saves money in transportation costs for their waste. At the same time, the dairy cows on the farm provide 2200&nbsp;L of milk per day, which is sold to the Northumberland and Baxter dairy farms. The cow manure is used to speed up the decomposition process in the biodigester tank due to the presence of bacteria.
